Nova
Scotia Provincial Highway 103 near Liverpool was showing premature
signs of stress due to the decomposition of its granite base. This
coastal highway is subjected to frequent heavy rains totaling 56 inches
a year. Doubtlessly the 12-inch Multi-Flow edge drain installed in
September of 2001 will extend its life significantly. Installation
at the time of construction, instead of waiting until the road showed
stress, would have been a very profitable investment.
