The Hamilton Sports Fields - Palatine, Illinois

   

Palatine is a progressive community northwest of Chicago. It is proud of its generous offering of recreational opportunities. During 2001-2002 the Palatine Park District constructed a park on its last undeveloped piece of land. The site contained the material excavated from the Tom T. Hamilton Reservoir.

This rather rugged looking site was transformed into six well-groomed soccer fields and five baseball diamonds on three terraces. Effective drainage was essential on this large and environmentally sensitive project. Multi-Flow was the drainage system of choice. Site work was completed in 2001 and the fields were allowed uninterrupted grass growth during the summer of 2002.

The summer of 2003 witnessed the opening of nine new soccer fields, five new baseball fields, a playground, two parking lots, a service building and assorted auxiliary multi-purpose fields.

The field cancellation board on Palatine Park District’s Web site seldom has a red X on a Hamilton field. Inclusion of the Multi-Flow drainage system will keep these parks available and healthy for many years.
